The Issues
1. Healthcare as an American Right
- The Best Administration will update the Affordable Care Act to include federal government funded private insurance plans, ensuring that every American will have guaranteed healthcare.
- All Americans without healthcare who cannot afford to purchase a plan will qualify for the Maximum Federal Health Insurance (MFHI) plan.
- Households earning under 250k annually will qualify for MFHI reimbursements if not covered by their employer or an existing affordable medical plan.
- The federal government via MFHI will directly reimburse health insurance companies for insurance provided to Americans who have no employment insurance, cannot afford to purchase their own or do not have an existing affordable medical plan.
- Employers will continue to offer insurance to individuals as is under current federal and state law. No initial changes to employer insurance requirements under the MFHI plan.
- Only United States citizens will qualify for the MFHI plan.
2. American Civil Liberties
- The Best Administration will ensure freedom of speech, civil liberties and due process will not be infringed.
- The Best Administration will support constitutional freedom of choice, expression and personal liberty.
- For non-American citizens the rights afforded to them under the constitution will be protected.
3. Free and Open Economy
- The Best Administration will free the American economy from unnecessary regulations that prohibit free enterprise, wealth creation and job growth.
- The Best Administration will work to implement a Central Bank Digital Currency not as an alternative to the United States dollar but in support of it.
- The Best Administration will promote the “American Free Economic Security Act” that will regulate AI usage within American businesses to ensure that a human workforce is encouraged, incentivized and promoted.
- The Best Administration will promote the “American Real Citizen Right to Work Act”. This legislation will focus on hitting the brakes on AI development in the United States, prioritizing workforce training and providing guaranteed unemployment insurance for citizens who qualify.
- The Best Administration will immediately end all tariffs that have been implemented on the American people. Tariff free global trade will lower inflation, secure the best trade partnerships and increase global competitiveness.
- The Supplemental Food Assistance Program will be reduced in its scope and expanded more to the American citizens who truly qualify and need food security and assistance.
- The Best Administration will work with regional and international partners to restore national and economic security by restoring the US AID programs as well as adding additional diplomatic programs via the State Department to ensure United States national and economic security.
- The Best Administration will prioritize renewable clean energy and research the possibility of harnessing fusion carbon free energy.
- The Best Administration will focus on enabling secular and religious nonprofits and charities to take care of those who need help by providing expanded assistance to those organizations.
- The Best Administration will realign NASA to build greater partnerships and expand business with private space enterprises. NASA will focus on commercial space tourism, building a permanent moon base and planning the first manned mission to Mars.
4. Faith in American Institutions
- The Best Administration will end the weaponization of the United States Department of Justice and other government agencies.
- The Best Administration will restore constitutional checks and balances between all branches of government including limiting the powers of the executive branch.
- The Best Administration will ensure the federal government protects religious freedom and the integrity of the state, maintaining the separation of church and state.
- The Best Administration will ensure the judicial branch remains politically impartial and the Supreme Court of the United States follows the constitution.
- The Best Administration will repeal the unconstitutional aspects of the Patriot Act and will limit the powers of Homeland Security including removing TSA and ICE from oversight of the department.
- The Best Administration will promote the "American Right to Transparency Act" which will limit what information the federal government can withhold from citizens.
- The Best Administration will promote a simplified IRS income tax focused on a fair and equitable tax structure that will provide a stable and sustainable tax code for America.
- The Best Administration will rename the Department of War to the Department of Peace signaling a desire for the Department of Defense to work to promote global peace thru strength and diplomacy.
- The Best Administration will focus on Education Reform including the promotion of charter, private and home schools and ensure that all public-school teachers are paid competitive median salaries.
- The Best Administration will focus on reforming Veterans Affairs programs and ensure that housing is provided for all homeless veterans.
5. Cannabis Reform
- The Best Administration will legalize cannabis at the federal level. Every American will have the right to grow, use and possess cannabis in all forms. Existing state and federal laws for misuse of this drug will remain in effect.
- The Best Administration will provide federal funding for cannabis research for medicinal purposes.
- The Best Administration will ensure that all misdemeanor cannabis convictions for all Americans dating back to 1955 will be pardoned.
The Candidate
Mr. Best is currently a banking officer in Hawaii and former finance consultant for banks in California and Hawaii. In 2015, Best was a consultant to the City and County of Los Angeles. In 2014, Best was the Interim Operations Director for the Hawaii Health Insurance Exchange for the Obama Affordable Care Act.
